Cinnamon Apple Muffins

My kids loved these...full of whole grain and fruit.  Roll out of bed, take out the tupperware and voila, breakfast before the bus.

3/4 c all purpose flour
3/4 c whole wheat flour
1/2 c oat bran
3/4 c sugar
1 t baking powder
1 t baking soda
1/4 t salt
1/2 t cinnamon
1/4 t nutmeg
dash cloves, if you have it and like
2/3 c applesauce
1 egg
1 c buttermilk (add 1 T lemon juice to scant cup milk, let stand 5 minutes)
about 1 c peeled, diced apple (I used two little galas)

Stir together dry ingredients in one bowl, wet in the other.  Combine with spatula and stir in diced apple.  Pour into tin prepared with baking spray and bake at 350 for 25 minutes.
